By the time you read this post I will be in the air, flying to sunny Santo Domingo, or maybe even there already. While I am gone this week I have some amazingly talented and stylish ladies contributing with blog posts this week. First I'd like to introduce Summer, a fashion designer and personal stylist in NYC.
Hey BobbinTalkers-
It's me Summer, from What Would Summer Wear. My lovely friend Aneta asked me to do a guest post while she's away on her warm, sunshiny vacation. Just for a laugh, I'd like to start out with a photo of Aneta and I when we were in school together at Parsons, circa 1998.LOL! We're posing in Mr. Elia's model drawing class, probably during a break or something. Those were good, sleep-deprived times.
Okay, now onto business. It's been cold here in New York. Very cold. This time of year I find myself cocooned under blankets on the couch, tea close by, watching lots of Netflix. Recently, I saw the movie Gigantic, with gorgeous Zooey Deschanel. She's got such great girlie style. She dresses like a true "lady". Her style in the film is very pulled together and refined, yet still youthful and vintage inspired. I fell in love with her jewelry in the film. In fact, I found myself starting to obsess over earrings. I think Zooey Deschanel has unknowingly caused me to transition from my "necklace" phase into my "earrings" phase just by wearing drop earrings in Gigantic. It's funny how those things happen, isn't it? You see something great and it inspires you to evolve your personal style.
Paul Dano and Zooey in a scene from the movie. Check out her jewelry. It's classic, refined, but still fun. So, since I saw this movie, I've been looking for earrings on various sites. One of my favorites being Etsy, because I love supporting small business and emerging designers. Here are some vintage earrings from Etsy that are really great and may satiate my appetite for some pretty earrings.
These lovely earrings are only $7.00 at BH Peter's.
Pearl cluster earrings from Venust for $20.00.
These coral earrings are stunning and absolutely worth their $125.00 price tag at Marvita13.
