I caught myself staring at the latest Nickolas Kirkwood shoe collection today and kept thinking: There are so many new and exciting heel shapes, how do we define them all? We all know stiletto heels, and these could possibly pass for a stilettos... How many of these heels can you name?
How about these? Should we call them architectural?
It might be time for the industry to reinvent some new heel names.
I know they are calling the left shoe the Titanic Ballerina pump, but that refers only to shape of the upper, not really the heel. So maybe the MadMax-ina or the Robo-Hybrid. And how about Bruno Frizoni's fringe heels?
Well, your weight isn't really supported on the fringe, but wouldn't it be fun to have a flexible fringe heel? Would you still call it a wedge? Or maybe the fringe wedge? Just to refresh your memory, this is what a wedge looks like even if it's slightly modified.

Keeping that in mind, is Alexander Fielden's shoe a wedge? I'll say a futuredge=futuristic wedge.

And we certainly need some new heel names for the shoes that came down Louis Vuitton's runway. Feel free to suggest!
