I wasn't sure what to expect from the debut collection of Norisol Ferrari, but I was pleasantly surprised and rewarded to venture out on a Sunday evening post Halloween. Norisol isn't new to the New York party scene and the likes of club kids, drag queens and transvestites, but do not be fooled by her background. Even though she grew up in the underground scene of 80's and 90's club scene of Palladium, Limelight (way before it was about to be turned into a squeaky clean shopping plaza), Mars, Tunnel and Pink Elephant, she turned out an elegant, timeless collection based on hand made details and lined with Loro Piana cashmere. There was nothing costumey in her bespoke line of coats and the only thing reminiscing of the clubs was the smoke filling the room. Classical music filled the spacious loft at Safe Harbor and an open bar greeted the guests who showed early enough to enjoy the relaxed and elegant atmosphere. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have to fight with the crowds outside the door and got a preview of the show test run in the smoke-filled loft.
I was lucky enough to catch Norisol Ferrari right before I came up the hand operated elevator and grabbed a quick interview with her. Watch the video in the next post {HERE}
I'm a big fan of head wear this season and utterly enjoyed the feathered headpieces in this collection! This collection featured plenty of those in addition to intricate feminine details and flattering
silhouettes. Ms Ferrari might have had a difficult journey so far, but
she sure is strutting in style through those hardships.
I loved Norisol's coat and thought the back view offers a much better view of the attention to detail and elegant silhouettes she offers in her collection. Don't you think?
