A short and sweet stopover at the Elle magazine party did it for me last night. New York city is filled with long legged models at every corner, but they must be all at fittings for the upcoming shows as there weren't any at the Elle magazine party at the SOHO Longchamp store last night. For me these parties can really feel like an industry event. You see the people that work for the magazine, the store, the sponsors, their friends and a some fashionable party-crashers in addition to the famous and almost famous cool people. So I take it as a mix of people-watching and networking. I really do love the Heatherwick studio store redesign though!
Inside Longchamp store: stairs, leading to the 2nd floor.
The happening: "cool" people, staring at the new guests, coming up the stairs! "Ha! We are in! Lets see who gets rejected at the door!" or "OMG!!!! Howaya? You look gawgeous!!!"
Yeahp! They are in! Amanda Lyons and Miles McMillan
Did I say my partner in party-time was one of the most photographed guests there. Alexa, those painful shoes were worth every paparazzi click. But the photo below reveals why I really love her!
I was surprised to see goody bags on the way out of the party. Despite the scant economy the gifts included a Longchamp leather luggage tag, a Longchamp bunny keychain, CD of the new album Virtue by Eldar and the newest issue of Elle magazine.
