While most fashion bloggers in NYC are obsessing over the upcoming NY Fashion Week, invites, show rejections and outfits... the Iceland Fashion Week is going on right now unnoticed.
Iceland Fashion Week Video 3 from Iceland Fashion Week on Vimeo.
Nestled amongst glaciers and spectacular views during "Midnight Sun" participants and spectators seem to be destined for the time of their lives. With whale watching, lightning night fireworks, and outdoor lunches at at Icelandic Glacial factory, scheduled as part of the events I'd love to be there!
I was happy to see Anna Unger, who was featured on BobbinTalk last month as one of the participants. You can see the post, featuring her unique sketches {HERE} and Anna Unger's official website {HERE}
Another designer who is participating in Iceland Fashion Week and caught my eye is Anja Hynynen. Based
in Stockholm and the countryside at Kungsör, she visits Scotland regularly and works in collaboration with Ardalanish. An
organic farm and weaving mill on the Isle of Mull, it respects the
symbiotic relationship between man, animals and nature, which leads to harmony
and vitality between their animals and their land.

For a full designer list and more details you can see the official Iceland Fashion Week website {HERE}, but I have to say their coverage is very limited. And I would be very happy to fly to Reykjavík next time and then trek to any remote location, involving glaciers and vikings so I can cover it's fashion shows extensively... {hint, hint}
