Last night I attended the third annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards, hosted by Handbag Designer 101 Emily Blumenthal. I love all accessories, especially handbags and shoes and it was so much fun to see the emerging designers come together for a night of cocktails and awards! The crowd was eclectic and the designs unique!
Minna Parikka was one of the finalists for Best Overall Shoe Design. Unfortunately she didn't win the award but she was my favorite overall best dressed designer!

My favorite headpiece was worn by Kathryn Finney from the BudgetFashionista. I loved her jewelry and overall style and pizazz!
Ana Niculae from Imperfect Indulgence was another accessory designer with a unique vision and elegant execution I'm looking forward to discovering her collections at stores around the world!
Oh la-la! last but certainly not least Lulu Guinness was the feature celebrity designer, awarded an iconoclast award.
She arrived wearing the same exact Giles Deacon purple dress and signature lip handbag she wore at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London about a week ago. It is recession time after all and she did look lovely in it so I'll take that as a sign of being green and recycling and outfit to two award shows that both honored her brilliant talent and longevity as a designer!
The main display at the cocktail reception area featured a variety of lip-shaped Lulu Guinness handbags in sparkly patterns.
I have to say in my opinion these two were probably some of the most fun guests at
the show. An adorable little girl walking around and handing out cards for Schander's Boutique and glam queen Kevin Aviance! {brilliant PR move! You would take anything from a cute fashionable girl!}
